ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is a branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It is based on the teaching of the yin and yang, according to which the life energy of the body (chi) can circulate on certain defined longitudinal trajectories (meridians) and can have a significant influence on all functions of the body. 

Acupuncture can provide relief for various ailments. The statutory health insurance companies cover the costs in the case of chronic pain in the lumbar spine and chronic pain in at least one knee joint. In the case of other indications, the costs will be charged according to the fee schedule for doctors (GOÄ). Private health insurances usually cover the benefits.
